WORSHIP IS THE CENTRAL ACT OF THE EXPERIENCE OF A CHRISTIAN
Worship; the word is actually an Anglo-Saxon derivative which means worth-ship. To worship is to ascribe worth to someone or something. When we worship God what we are doing is shaping in our minds, hearts and life experience the "worth" of God in our life.
When we gather on Sundays our collective experience is amplified by our individual expressions of adoration, thanksgiving and intercession and this comprises our Worship of Almighty God.
The interaction between music and anthems, hymns of praise, prayers of adoration and intercession, the act of giving and dedication, the read and preached word of God, the celebration of the Sacraments, the hymn of response and the charge to leave the sanctuary different than as we arrived; all this frames our Worship experience and engages us all as primary participants in this wonderful act for whom God alone is our audience.
