Baptism is one of the two sacraments of the church universal. The Chapel agrees with most Christian denominations that Baptism is a sacrament given to the church by Jesus Christ. "A sacrament is a holy ordinance instituted by Christ." The sacraments are in a sense the Word of God made visible.
Like the Lord's Supper, Baptism is a visible sign of God's invisible grace. Baptism is administered once for all time. Christian Baptism at the Chapel is administered either as an event for family and close friends usually on Sunday's following the service of worship or as a collective event that transpires as a part of the central service of worship involving the entire community of faith.
While the sacrament of Baptism is most often administered to infants and children, it is not uncommon for an adult who has not formerly been baptized to make this request on his or her behalf.
Please contact Debbie at the Chapel office if you would like to inquire and receive information about the Sacrament of Christian Baptism and to book upcoming available dates.
